Samsung Galaxy M40 gets Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update

Samsung has already released the Android 11 / One UI 3.1 update to most of its high-end and mid-range Galaxy devices. And now, the company has released the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update to Samsung Galaxy M40. This update carries M405FDDU2CUD2 build number and the size of this update is around 2GB.

The Galaxy M40 has started getting the One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 update, along with April 2021 security patch in India. This Android 11 update brings features such as one-time permissions, chat bubbles, auto permissions reset, a conversations section, a media player widget in the quick settings toggle area, and easier access to smart home controls.

The update also includes various One UI 3.1 features like a redesigned UI, refreshed icons, improved stock apps, more Dynamic Lockscreen options, lockscreen widgets, and a newer version of Samsung Keyboard, Samsung Internet, and improved Digital Wellbeing and parental controls.

Indian users of Galaxy M40 can check for this update by navigating to Settings > Software update and Download and install.

Samsung is expected to roll out the Android 11 update for Galaxy M40 in more markets in the coming weeks. Samsung Galaxy M40 smartphone was launched in mid-2019 with Android 9.0 (One UI), and since then, the phone has received two major Android OS updates. The smartphone is currently on a quarterly security update schedule.
