How to install OxygenOS 11 Beta

Android 11 is finally out, and after the stable updates to the Pixel devices, OnePlus, Oppo and Realme are the only ones outside of Google to roll out the updates to users. The people who want to install OxygenOS 11 Beta on Oneplus 8 Pro / Oneplus 8 just need to follow some steps.

For Indian users, Android 11 can be installed on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 series, OnePlus 8 and Oneplus 8 Pro, Realme X50 Pro and Oppo Find X2. The OxygenOS 11 Beta is the most easily available, and after it feels quite stable with no major bugs.

OnePlus also allows a nifty, clean way of installing beta updates on their devices that simply includes downloading the ROM from official sources, granting the necessary permissions and installing it like an OTA update. OnePlus even offers an easy way to roll back to the stable build in case of any issues. And no, this doesn’t wipe off all your data, but it’s advisable to keep a backup of your files and apps.

Step by Step guide to Install OxygenOS 11 Beta on Oneplus 8 / Oneplus 8 Pro:

Step 1:

Download the OxygenOS 11 Beta for OnePlus 8 or the 8 Pro. Their size is around 2.7GB, so a Wi-Fi connection will be good for this.

1. Download OxygenOS 11 beta for Oneplus 8
2. Download OxygenOS 11 beta for Oneplus 8 Pro

Step 2: Once the file is downloaded, then open the File Manager. Select the downloaded file by long pressing on it, and select ‘cut‘. Now Go to the internal storage, and navigate to the root directory. Paste the file there.

Step 3: Now Go to Settings > System > System Updates. Tap on the Gear icon in the top right corner, and select the option of Local Upgrade. The file that you pasted in the root directory will show up here.

Step 4: Now select that file and tap Install Now to start the installing process of OxygenOS 11 beta.

Step 5: Reboot your Oneplus 8/Oneplus 8 Pro smartphone and go to the About Phone section to check the build number to confirm whether the update is ready to use.

Note: Updating to the beta build is fairly straightforward, but if you face any pressing issues, you can roll back to the previous stable build by following the same process. You just need to download the stable ROM for your OnePlus device, and follow the same steps as before.

What’s new in OxygenOS 11 Open Beta?

OxygenOS 11 also adds a few new features to your smartphone. That includes an always-on display, along with a new visual design that resembles OneUI, but frankly, that’s not a bad thing at all. The Game Space has been improved and revamped to show usage stats, a sidebar inside games, and new additions to Dark Mode and Zen Mode.
